Five subspecies of the Rufous-tailed Hummingbird are recognized.
Amazalia tzacatl tzacatl occurs from Mexico to Central Panama.

There are at least three recognized subspecies of the Green-crowned Brilliant.
Heliodoxa jacula henryi occurs in Costa Rica and western Panama.

With a mass around 1.6 2 gram and a length of 56 cm, it is the smallest bird in the world. The male (on the photo) has a fiery red throat and is smaller than the female. Compared to other small hummingbirds, which often have a slender appearance, the bee hummingbird looks rounded and chunky. As its name suggests, is scarcely larger than a bee.
It is endemic to Cuba and some small surrounding islands.

The one occurring in Belize is Pyrocephalus rubinus blatteus.

Besides the endemic Cuban Gnatcatcher (next photo), the Blue-gray Gnatcatcher is the only other gnatcatcher found on Cuba and is a usually uncommon winter visitor to the island.

The Cuban Gnatcatcher (10-11 cm) closely resembles the Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, but is distinguished by the crescentic black auricular (near the ear) mark.

There are currently 25 subspecies of the Rufous-collared sparrow (Zonotrichia capensis).
Zonotrichia capensis septentrionalis is found in the highlands of south Mexico (Chiapas) to Honduras and El Salvador.
