Like many hummingbirds, there are several subspecies of Crowned Woodnymphs.
The subspecies Thalurania colombica colombica is found in northern Colombia and northwestern Venezuela and is sometimes also referred to as Colombian Violet-crowned Woodnymph.

Like many hummingbirds, there are several subspecies of Crowned Woodnymphs.
The subspecies Thalurania colombica fannyi is found in eastern Panama, western Colombia and northwestern Ecuador and is sometimes also referred to as Northern Green-crowned Woodnymph.

There are five recognized subspecies of the Rufous-tailed Hummingbird.
The subspecies A. t. fuscicaudata occurs from western Venezuela to northern and western Colombia.

There are at least three recognized subspecies of the Green-crowned Brilliant.
Heliodoxa jacula jacula occurs in eastern Panama to Northern and central Colombia.

This common little hummingbird (8 cm; 3,9 gram) is found in the Andes mountain range at elevations of 1700 up to 3800 m. There are several subspecies of Tyrian Metaltails. The subspecies M.t. districta (violet-blue tail) is found in the Santa Marta Mountains and Perijá Mountains (northeastern Colombia) and is sometimes also referred to as Santa Marta Metaltail.
